New Southmead Hospital buildings open to public
A multimillion pound new development at Southmead Hospital in Bristol has fully opened.
The new buildings, which cost 拢45m, will be used by pathologists and scientists and include purpose-built laboratories for research into diabetes, cancer and lung disease.
The facilities will form part of the city's 拢430m new hospital when it opens in 2014.
An NHS spokesman said they were the first major new buildings at the site.
