Wednesfield raid: Hundreds of illegal vapes found in shop

A licensing review is to be held after hundreds of illegal vapes and cigarettes were found in a shop.
Wolverhampton trading standards officers visited Family Shopper in Wood End Road, Wednesfield, on 28 September last year after receiving complaints.
They found聽878 illegal vapes and 660 illegal cigarettes.
A City of Wolverhampton Council report said its trading standards department had requested a review of the shop's premises licence.
Amitabh Singh, section leader for licensing, said the licence holder and management had failed to meet licencing laws and that councillors might conclude "that there is no alternative but to revoke the licence".
A number of residents have written to the council in support of Family Shopper.
The licence review hearing will be held on 29 January.
This news was gathered by the Local Democracy Reporting Service which covers councils and other public service organisations.
