Your pictures: Texture
Every week we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week the theme was texture and we start with this picture of lifebuoy ropes taken by Claire Roberts.
Claire Simpson: "Exploring different textures made me look at things very differently."
Oliver Kennedy: "Close up of a barrel cactus. The tines appear chaotic at first glance, but all originate from simple patterned structure."
Karen Boddington: "This mooring post reminded me of a hand."
Pervaiz Saeed: "Straw baskets of different types."
David Cooper: "The non-slip mat on the decking of an Isle of Wight ferry, with the shadow of the handrail."
Christian Foss: "I love the texture of the water as a quick rain shower lashes the water and boats, during race week in Chester, Nova Scotia, Canada."
Rakesh Chandode: "I took this photo of colour pencils texture in the evening light in Greifswald, Germany."
Madhawa Weerasekara: "Palm leaves being used to put up fences in villages of Northern Sri Lanka. After the end of civil war, there are many such fences being built as communities slowly get back to their usual life styles."
Robert Finn: "A variety of natural textures around my workplace, snapped at random with my phone."
Steve Bizal: "I found these amazing ice crystals that resemble a spider web while hiking next to the Potomac River in Maryland, US."
We end with a photo of a snake by Manju. If you'd like to enter, send your pictures to yourpics@bbc.co.uk Details of themes and terms can be seen on the photo blog, just follow the link below this gallery.
