The Chainsmokers spell Pittsburgh wrong on a banner at end of their concert

The Chainsmokers may need some spelling lessons after leaving the "H" off the end of Pittsburgh at the end of a gig in the US city.

The duo - Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall - lowered a banner down at the back of the stage on Saturday night which read: "Thank you Pittsburg."

The band tweeted to say: "lol totally putting our visual guy on blast for misspelling Pittsburgh at the end."

But that post has now been deleted from the group's Twitter account.

But the band seem to be having a bit of fun now after misspelling Pittsburgh.

Chainsmokers' fans also got behind the group after the slip-up.

One fan wants The Chainsmokers to come to the Californian town of Pittsburg.

The Chainsmokers had their first big hit with Selfie in 2014.

They won a Grammy for best dance recording for their single Don't Let Me Down earlier this year and had a number one in the UK with Closer, featuring Halsey.

Their latest track, Something Just Like This featuring Coldplay, made it to number two on the Official Singles Chart.

The group are in the middle of their North American Memories Do Not Open tour and have another 31 dates to play.

The Chainsmokers are also playing on the main stage at Radio 1's Big Weekend in Hull on Sunday 28 May.
