Foo Fighters are to headline the T in the Park festival

Foo Fighters are the first headliner to be confirmed for next year's T In The Park festival.

The American rockers will top the bill on the main stage which takes place between 8-10 July near Balado, Scotland.

Festival director Geoff Ellis said: "Foo Fighters are one of the best festival headliners on the planet and I'm delighted we have them."

Tickets for the gigs go on sale at 9am on Friday 3 December.

The 2010 bash in Kinross-shire saw performances from Eminem, The Prodigy and Muse.

As previously reported Foo Fighters will also headline next year's Isle Of Wight festival in June alongside Kasabian and Kings Of Leon.
