Britney Spears hails 'amazing' Glee appearance

Britney Spears has hailed the cast of Glee as "amazing", as the episode she appears in has debuted on US television.

Spears made a cameo in an episode titled Britney/Britanny shown Tuesday night (28 September) on Fox.

Tweeting along as the show aired Spears wrote: "I loved it! Thank you guys so much for making this happen!"

She added: "Watching [鈥aby One More Time] brings back so many memories! Feels like yesterday."

During her running commentary Spears, 28, hailed a number of the programme's cast including Heather Morris who plays cheerleader Brittany and Lea Michele who plays Rachel Berry, saying she has a "beautiful voice".

Spears herself appeared on screen briefly three times delivering some short lines.

The cast dipped into Spears' back catalogue during the show and performed versions of five tracks including Stronger, I'm A Slave 4 U, It's Me Against The Music and Toxic - with Spears describing it as "amazing".

She also added that Jane Lynch, who plays coach Sue Sylvester, "scares me".

The second series of the hit comedy is currently airing in the US.

It is due to be shown in the UK in January.
