Black Eyed Peas frontman will.i.am has hit out at plans for a new Michael Jackson album.

Jackson's manager Frank DiLeo has told Rolling Stone magazine a CD made up of 10 unrelased tracks will be released by the end of the year.

Before he died Jackson had worked on collaborations with Akon, Will.i.am and Ne-Yo. But will.i.am has told Associated Press he's against the idea of releasing the material calling it "disrespectful".

Perfectionist

Will.i.am became close to Jackson after working with him: "He was a perfectionist and he wouldn't have wanted it that way.

"How you gonna release Michael Jackson when Michael Jackson ain't here to bless it?"

He told AP Jackson was very particular about all aspects of his musical production.

"Now that he is not part of the process, what are they doing? Why would you put a record out like that? What's wrong with what he already contributed to the world?"
