Outkast material is 'brewing'
Rapper Big Boi has said that his band Outkast are working on their first new material since 2006 album Idlewild.
Speaking to Radio 1's Zane Lowe he said: "That's all top secret information right now. We can't let people know what we're doing. You better know that something is brewing."
Big Boi, one half of the Atlanta duo along with Andre 3000, is set to release a solo album entitled Sir Luscious Left Foot: The Son Of Chico Dusty later this year.
A track from that album, Shutterbug, has already been made available to fans.
'Nothing different'
Discussing what to expect from his solo album, Big Boi said it was "like everything we've been know for".
He added: "It's nothing different. It may be different subjects for different things which have happened in the past five or six years.
"Albums are like time capsules that capture the essence of what's happening in our lives. It's just talking about my life and what's been going on. It's all funk based.
"The hunger is still there."
He also confirmed that Andre 3000 has contributed to the album, which has yet to be finished.
Big Boi said: "He's on the record, he makes two appearances.
"He also produced a track on it that's crazy, bananas, one of the last songs I'm recording right now. There are a lot of surprises on it."
