Florence 'recording' second LP in January
Florence Welch, of Florence And The Machine, says she'll head into the studio in January 2010 to begin working on the follow-up to her debut album.
The Camberwell, London singer said: "We're recording the second album in January. Got the plan, I just want to start recording as soon as possible."
Welch plays her biggest UK headline tour during December before playing Australian and US tours in the spring.
Up until recently Lungs was the best selling UK debut of the year, now topped by JLS.
'Hasn't changed'
Meanwhile, the singer has admitted she's yet to see the proceeds from her debut album.
"I'm basically the same and everyone's like, 'Aren't you supposed to be some loaded pop star?' and I'm like, 'No, trust me I'm not, I get an allowance'.
"It's useful having gigs because you get PDs - which is a tenner in the day.
"Life hasn't changed. I still get the bus. I have no cash cards so I'm pretty much broke and borrowing money still. My phone's broken, I'm still exactly the same."
Welch added that the increased profile she now has, in the media and amongst fans, makes her nervous.
"Sometimes I get scared by the exposure, scared by negative criticism but it's something you learn to deal with and take it less personally.
"When you first get that it's like, 'Why is someone saying something so mean?' But you learn to take it not so personally."
