Chili Peppers plan a 10th album
Drummer Chad Smith has confirmed the Red Hot Chili Peppers will reunite after a two-year break to begin working on new material this autumn.
The Californian band took a two-year break following the release of their last album 2005's Stadium Arcadium.
Smith is currently working on side projects Chickenfoot and Chad Smith's Bombastic Meatbats.
Speaking to American website Billboard.com, drummer Chad Smith said: "Everybody was like, 'Y'know, I really like having this time off, not being a Chili Pepper and doing other things. It'll be two years in September, so now we're ready."
He said Red Hot Chili Peppers will begin writing their forthcoming 10th album this October.
A release date or title for the new album is yet to be confirmed.
