An arsonist who set fire to his Nottinghamshire home and burgled another property has been jailed for two and a half years.
Archie Tallack, of Gladstone Street, Mansfield, set a mattress alight in a bedroom at the house on 9 April.
It is believed he had argued beforehand with a woman who shares the address, Nottinghamshire Police said, and she later returned to the property to discover rooms had been trashed and the bedroom was on fire.
Earlier that day, Tallack, 22, had broken into a flat in the same street with his friend Scott Blake and stolen a television.
Firefighters put out the blaze in Gladstone Street and prevented it from spreading, but were then called along with police to St Peter's Retail Park in Mansfield after reports of two offenders using a shopping trolley to break into 91热爆 Bargains.
Police said they found Tallack and Blake heavily intoxicated inside the store, as they attempted to steal alcohol.
Tallack pleaded guilty to arson with recklessness and two counts of burglary on 15 May and was sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday.
Blake, 26, of no fixed abode, received a suspended jail sentence of 16 months after pleading guilty to two counts of burglary.
Det Insp Andy Hall said: 鈥淭he fire was lit in a terraced property, meaning there was a very real risk of it spreading to neighbouring homes and putting families at risk.
鈥淭allack was incredibly reckless and put the lives of people on the street in serious danger through his actions.
鈥淗is crime spree also included a home break-in and raid on a retail park store with his accomplice Scott Blake."
