Man found seriously injured in road
A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after he was found in the road in Barnsley, police said.
A passer-by found the 51-year-old on Doncaster Road near the junction with Chapel Court at about 06:45 BST on Thursday, South Yorkshire Police said.
An ambulance took the man to hospital where his injuries were thought to have been caused by either an attack or by being hit by a vehicle.
Anyone with information or potential witnesses are urged to contact police.
