Murder accused pair in court after man found dead
Two people have appeared in court charged with the murder of a man who was found dead at a house in York.
The 72-year-old man's body was discovered in Whitethorn Close, Huntington, on Monday after police were called by a concerned member of the public.
Jason Holdgate, 32, and Nicola Anne Beck, 42, are also charged with theft of a motor vehicle and appeared before York Magistrates' Court on Friday morning.
Both were remanded into custody and are due to appear at Leeds Crown Court on Monday.
Officers continued to carry out investigation work at the scene in Huntington, the force added.
