A man is in hospital after being seriously injured in an assault.

It happened outside the Shores Hotel on Tyldesley Road in Blackpool at about 01:00 BST on Sunday, Lancashire Police said.

A man in his 50s suffered serious head injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Officers have asked for any witnesses who were in the area at the time, or were in Happy Scot's bar beforehand, to contact them.
