Man charged after police officer hit with brick
A man has been charged after a police officer was hit with a brick during an arrest.
The officer was taken to hospital after sustaining a "significant" head injury while arresting two men on Chesterfield Road in Blackpool on Friday as part of an investigation into a string of robberies in the resort.
A 30-year-old, of no fixed address, is charged with assault causing grievous bodily harm with intent to resist/prevent arrest, Lancashire Police confirmed.
He has been remanded to appear before Lancaster Magistrates Court on Monday.
