Army bomb experts and police are attending the scene of a security alert on the outskirts of Dungiven, County Londonderry.

The Foreglen Road is closed at its junctions with the Baranailt Road and Muldonagh Road and searches are being conducted in nearby fields.

Cordons are in place.

Police are asking members of the public, including motorists, to avoid the area at this time.
