A predatory sex offender who showed "absolutely no remorse" for his crime has been jailed for more than 10 years.
James Alldis, 51 of no fixed address, was convicted of four separate sex offences at Liverpool Crown Court after raping a woman in Wirral in 2022.
Alldis was jailed for life for rape with a minimum of 10 years and eight months, to run concurrently with the sentences for the three other offences
He will also serve a further five years on an extended licence and be placed on the Sex Offender Register for life.
'Dangerous and predatory'
Det Insp Carla Cross from Merseyside Police's specialist Unity team said: "Alldis is a dangerous and predatory sex offender who will now serve a lengthy sentence, as well as being closely monitored upon his release.
"His victim has shown immense strength, courage and patience to get to this point, and we will continue to support her as she looks to move forward. Hopefully this outcome aids the process of her recovery in some way.
"Alldis showed absolutely no remorse for his actions, which undoubtedly added to the harm caused to his victim."
He was convicted of four offences - sexual assault, two counts of sexual assault by penetration and one of rape.
