Passengers 'stranded' at station after floods

More than 100 passengers were stranded at Doncaster Station following flooding in Lincolnshire.

TransPennine Express (TPE) said trains between Doncaster and Cleethorpes were "unable to run" and advised customers not to travel for the rest of Tuesday.

LNER services in the area are also heavily disrupted.

A 91热爆 reporter at the station said those stranded had been left "angry and annoyed" by the confusion caused by the sudden cancellations.

Naj Modak, who was trying to get to Scunthorpe from York, said some customers were being put in taxis home by the train companies and that the scene was "very disorganised".

"There were 150 or so passengers stranded here. People were really animated," he said.

"TPE staff were saying there are no trains and that they were trying to get taxis for people.

"As half of us were put in taxis, a bus turned up to the surprise of staff. I'm now on a bus and some are in taxis, but it's all very disorganised."

Writing on X, formerly known as TwitterT, TPE said passengers were "strongly advised" not to travel due to the "severe weather".

They added: "Customers with tickets for travel today (2/1) between #Doncaster and #Cleethorpes are able to use their tickets to travel on alternative TransPennine Express services tomorrow, Wednesday 3rd January."
