Two men charged in fly-tipping probe

Two men have been charged in connection with a number of fly-tipping cases across Warwickshire, police said.

It comes after a group of residents blocked in the vans of suspected fly-tippers at Packington Estate's Maxstoke Lane, near Meriden, last month.

Ionut Bancunlea, 33, of Smethwick, near Birmingham, has been charged with four counts of depositing waste without an environmental permit.

Adrian Bivolaru, 34, also of Smethwick, has been charged with two counts of the same offence. Both men are due before magistrates in May.

The charges relate to four alleged incidents of illegally depositing waste, Warwickshire Police said.

These were at Fen End Road in Fen End in June and September, at Packington Lane in Maxstoke on 16 November and on Maxstoke Lane, near Meriden, on 7 February.

Mr Bancunlea, of Claremont Road, and Mr Bivolaru, of Parkhill Road, are due to appear at Leamington Spa Magistrates' Court on 10 May.
