Motorcyclist, 18, dies in hospital after crash

A motorcyclist has died after a crash in Birmingham.

The 18-year-old man died in hospital following the crash involving a motorbike and a car on Heath Way, Hodge Hill, just before 14:00 BST on Thursday.

The bike had been reported stolen and the rider failed to stop for officers before the incident, West Midlands Police said.

The force said a referral had been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), adding that it was normal procedure in such circumstances.
