Man, 43, charged after body found in city flat
A 43-year-old man has been charged after a body was found in an Edinburgh flat.
Police said the alarm was raised at a property in Westfield Road, in the Gorgie area of the city, at about 12:55 on Friday.
The 53-year-old, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The closure of the street caused some traffic disruption ahead of the Taylor Swift concert at nearby Murrayfield.
The suspect, who has been charged in connection with the death, is expected to appear before Edinburgh Sheriff Court on Monday.
Det Insp David McAlinden said: "At this time, our thoughts are very much with the family and friends of the deceased.
"This was a contained incident, however we know that the police presence and subsequent road closure has had a significant impact on the local community and the wider public."
