Police charge 13 in drugs and slavery crackdown
Police have charged 13 people as part of a crackdown on drugs and modern slavery.
Leicestershire Police said 12 men and one woman were detained between Monday and Wednesday in an operation supported by West Midlands Police and British Transport Police.
The group includes eight men from Loughborough along with others from Leicester, Dudley and West Bromwich.
The charges include conspiracy to supply class A drugs, human trafficking and keeping a person in slavery or servitude, the force said.
It added four of those charged appeared before magistrates on Wednesday and the remainder were due to appear next month.
