Tribute to 'loving mother' killed by car in Lanarkshire
A 41-year-old pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Bellshill, North Lanarkshire, has been named as Clare Ritchie.
The incident happened about 21:30 on Friday on Crossgates in the town and involved a silver Ford Fiesta.
Emergency services attended and she was pronounced dead a short time later.
Her family described her as "a loving mother, daughter, sister, auntie and friend".
In a statement, they said: "The tragedy that happened on Friday has left us all devastated.
"She will be dearly missed, but we all promise to make her proud and keep her memory alive鈥
Sgt Andrew Coutts said: "Inquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.
"We are asking anyone who saw what happened to ."
