Buses diverted over anti-social behaviour
A bus company said it had to divert a number of services away from a city street after the vehicles were targeted by anti-social behaviour.
National Express Coventry said its 6 and 6A services continued to operate on their normal routes but some were diverted from Jardine Crescent at short notice following "recurring issues with anti-social behaviour targeted at buses" in recent weeks.
West Midlands Police said a teenager from Westwood Heath had been served a warning notice after tampering with a bus, which caused it to be put out of operation.
Officers urged anyone to report anti-social behaviour involving buses so they c carry out further inquiries and check CCTV.
The force added it had only received one other report of anti-social behaviour on buses within the past three months, but the local neighbourhood and Safer Travel policing teams "were working together to understand people鈥檚 concerns".
National Express Coventry said it was continuing to work with police to identify anyone involved and tackle the "totally unacceptable" behaviour.
"We may continue to divert services at short notice if it becomes necessary to protect the safety of our customers and our drivers," it said, adding people should check X for updates.
People can report anti-social behaviour on bus journeys by texting "SeeSay" to 81018 with full details.
