Unexploded device found on beach 'safely detonated'
An unexploded device found on a beach has been safely detonated, police officers have said.
Norfolk Police was called to Winterton-on-Sea, near Great Yarmouth, at about 07:15 BST on Friday after receiving a report of an unexploded device.
The force said a British Army explosive ordnance disposal team from Colchester was called to the scene, and the device was detonated.
Winterton Coastguard Rescue Team assisted the police, which set up a 100m cordon around the device.
