Car park users warned of pay and display scam
Motorists are being warned of a pay and display machine scam across north Devon car parks.
North Devon Council (NDC) said it had received reports of stickers being placed on pay and display machine card readers which claimed the machine was out of order.
In a , it said the stickers instructed car park users to make a payment by calling a "scam line" which was "stealing bank information".
The council warned people not to call the number on pay and display machine stickers.
It urged people who believed they had fallen victim to the scam to contact their bank and the council.
