Cyclist seriously hurt in crash with white van

A cyclist in his 60s has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after a crash with a white van.

Bedfordshire Police said the collision happened on the A5183 Watling Street between Markyate and Dunstable.

One man was arrested, on suspicion of causing serious injury for careless driving and possession of cannabis. He has been bailed.

Police appealed for anyone with any information about the incident, which happened at about 16:10 GMT on Tuesday, to come forward.
