CCTV is being reviewed as detectives investigating a house fire, in which a man died and four people were injured, appeal for any witnesses to come forward.
A murder investigation is under way after the fire started in Plascom Road, Wolverhampton, in the early hours of Tuesday.
A 26-year-old man died in hospital and a boy, aged 16, remains in a life-threatening condition. A 52-year-old woman is also in hospital and two men have been discharged.
The scene remains cordoned off and West Midlands Police said officers had been carrying out additional patrols in the neighbourhood.
More than 20 firefighters were sent to the blaze at about 01:00 BST with it being extinguished by 04:30, West Midlands Fire Service said.
Anyone in the area at the time or in a car with dashcam footage is asked to contact the force, a spokesperson said.
