Man dies after car hits tree

A man has died after a car left the road and hit a tree in Suffolk.

Police were called to reports of a single-vehicle collision on Halesworth Road in Reydon, near Southwold, at 15:30 BST on Tuesday.

The driver of a black Vauxhall Zafira, a man in his 60s, was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital by air ambulance before he died.

His two passengers, a man and a woman both in their 30s, were uninjured.

The helicopter was in attendance along with a community first responder, rapid response vehicle and an ambulance as well as Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service crews before the road reopened at 18:10.

Suffolk Police is urging any witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.
