A main route in Wolverhampton is to remain closed for several days after a burst water main.
Severn Trent teams were called to Cleveland Street, close to the market, at about 05:30 BST on Thursday.
On Friday, they said repairs to the main had been completed, but the road would remain closed while it was "put back to normal".
The city council said it would close until 3 September and a diversion route was in place via Worcester Street from Pitt Street, Ring Road St Johns and Snow Hill.
A Severn Trent spokesperson said: "Due to the location of the burst and to keep our teams and the public safe a road closure is in place, which will continue while the road is being put back to normal.
鈥淲e understand that roadworks can be inconvenient and that this is a busy road, and our teams will be working to get everything restored as quickly as possible.
"We鈥檇 like to thank everyone for their patience and apologise for any disruption while we complete this work.鈥
City of Wolverhampton Council said the market would be open as normal despite some disruption to motorists.
