Man arrested after van crash leaves woman critical
A man has been arrested after a woman was seriously injured when she was hit by a van in Barnsley.
The 34-year-old woman suffered life-threatening injuries when she was hit by a white Ford Transit van on Acorn Way in Grimethorpe at about 11:30 BST on Thursday.
She remained in a critical condition in hospital, South Yorkshire Police said.
A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 GBH and causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has since been bailed, police added.
The circumstances that led to the woman's injuries are currently unclear, with officers asking for help as part of their investigation.
