Firefighters have tackled a blaze which damaged a commercial garage near Buckfastleigh.

In a , Buckfastleigh Fire Station said multiple crews attended the blaze at a tyre storage area at Bully Cleaves Quarry at about 09:30 BST on Thursday.

It said the fire took place at the rear of a property near Flogas gas bottling plant, which ceased all liquid transfers for the duration of the incident.

The fire station said Buckfast Road was closed while firefighters tackled the flames.

Buckfastleigh Fire Station said crews from Totnes, Bovey Tracey, Paignton and Honiton Fire Station attended the scene.

"We managed to get a hold of the fire and prevent any major spread to the main part of the building," it said.

The fire station said the blaze was confirmed to be accidental and nobody was injured.
