Man arrested over attempted knife-point robbery
A man has been arrested after a shopper was threatened with a knife during an attempted robbery, police said.
The incident happened at the Lidl store on Towerfield Drive in Woolwell area of Plymouth at 12:20 BST on Friday and led to a response from armed officers, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
The force said a suspect demanded money while threatening a customer with a knife before they fled empty-handed.
Police said a man in his 40s from Plymouth was arrested on suspicion of attempted robbery and possession of a bladed article. He remains in custody.
