Driver critical after crashing into two cars
A man is critically ill after his car was involved in a crash with two vehicles in Airdrie.
Police said the silver Nissan Qashqai hit a parked van in the town's High Street before striking a red Qashqai on nearby Aitchison Street.
Officers closed off the road for eight hours following the incident, which happened at about 20:50 on Saturday.
The driver was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow where he is being treated for "life-threatening injuries".
Police said the man in the red car was treated at nearby Monklands hospital.
