Man in critical condition after car hits tree
A man is critically ill in hospital after his car hit a tree near Dunblane.
The 39-year-old sustained serious injuries when the blue Audi A4 left the road between junctions 10 and 11 of the M9 on Thursday evening.
The road was closed for more than nine hours during an initial investigation.
Emergency crews took the man to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow, where his condition was described as "critical but stable".
No other vehicles were involved in the incident, Police Scotland said.
The road was eventually reopened shortly before 06:00 on Friday morning.
Officers have asked for any fellow drivers travelling nearby to submit any dashcam footage to investigators.
