One person dead after fire breaks out in Inverness
One person has died after a fire broke out in a flat in Inverness.
A number of homes were evacuated after emergency services were alerted to the fire at about 02:00 in a flat in Tomatin Road in the city's Hilton area.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent four fire engines and a specialist vehicle to the scene.
Three ambulances were also sent.
Police Scotland said: "Tomatin Road is closed and is expected to re-open shortly.
"Inquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing."
