Two teenagers and a 12-year-old boy have been arrested on suspicion of possessing a firearm to cause fear of violence after a teenage boy was assaulted.

The victim was attacked on The Oaks in Newbury, Berkshire, at about 18.14 BST on Tuesday, said Thames Valley Police.

He was not injured, said the force.

A 20-year-old man was also arrested after the assault on suspicion of possessing a bladed article in a public place and an imitation firearm to cause fear of violence.

The four people arrested, aged 12, 17, 18 and 20 and all from Newbury, have been released on bail until 8 August.

Det Con Izzy Dennis said an investigation was ongoing, adding: 鈥淚 would want to reassure the public that we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this incident and that there is no risk to the wider public."
