Woman raped by armed man in daylight attack

The rape of a woman by an armed man in woodland has prompted a two-day police presence near the scene.

The victim, in her 20s, was walking along Brandon Road in Binley Woods, Warwickshire, before she was taken to a wooded area and attacked, Warwickshire Police said.

Officers said she had been approached by an unknown man who threatened her with a bladed object last Monday between 14:00 and 15:00 BST.

Police have appealed for anyone with information or dash cam footage that may help the inquiry to get in touch.

The force said there would be officers in the area surrounding Brandon Road and Rugby Road on Monday and Tuesday.

"We recognise the concern this will cause in the local community and while no arrests have been made I鈥檇 like to reassure them we鈥檙e carrying out a full investigation," said Det Insp Carl Buckley.
