Woman in court accused of 90-year-old's murder
A woman has appeared in court charged with murdering a 90-year-old woman in her home.
Myra Thompson was found dead by emergency services at the house on Bolde Way in Spital, Wirral, on 23 April.
Jayne Hill, 51, of Norwich Drive in Upton, appeared for the short hearing at Liverpool Crown Court via videolink.
Ms Hill, wearing a grey tracksuit and with dyed red hair tied back in a pony tail, seemed visibly shaken and spoke only to confirm her name and date of birth.
Her defence barrister said there would be no application made for bail and Ms Hill would remain remanded in custody at HMP Styal Prison.
Judge David Aubrey KC set a provisional date on 21 October for a five-day trial.
Ms Hill will return for plea hearing on 18 July.
