Search resumes for missing man after kayak found
A kayak has been found during a search for a man missing off the coast of County Donegal in the Republic of Ireland.
Irish national broadcaster 搁罢脡 said the kayak was found north of Tory Island on Friday evening.
The man, who is in his 50s, had set off from Machaire Gathl谩n pier at about 17:00 on Thursday and was last seen at about 19:00.
A search operation involving local lifeboats, which got underway at about midnight on Thursday, resumed on Saturday morning.
RNLI lifeboats from Arranmore and Lough Swilly as well as the R118 coastguard helicopter from Sligo and local coast guard units have been involved in the search.
The helicopter was tasked with low-water searches on Saturday, the Irish Coast Guard has confirmed.
A rescue helicopter from Prestwick in Scotland joined the search on Friday.
