School evacuated as suspected grenade found nearby
An all-girls secondary school in Birmingham was evacuated after a suspected unexploded hand grenade was found nearby.
Army bomb disposal experts were called to a property in Bordesley Green Road after the device was discovered by a member of the public in a garden on Monday.
The device was found to be inert, West Midlands Fire Service said, and it was taken away for safe disposal.
Bordesley Green Road has now reopened after being closed between Denbigh Street and Ronald Road while the device was investigated.
