Man arrested after wild birds found in house
A man has been arrested after police found six wild birds being kept at a house.
Officers from West Mercia Police and the RSPCA found the birds on Meadow Close in Madeley, Telford, on Wednesday.
Among those found were a goldfinch, a redpoll, a siskin and a brambling.
A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of taking and being in possession of a wild bird. He has since been released on bail.
The forbids the taking of birds from the wild.
West Mercia Police encouraged anyone with concerns about wildlife and other rural crimes to join its scheme.
