Lamp-post falls on M6 cars as lorry crashes
Drivers on the M6 motorway were left shocked when a lamp-post fell on their vehicles after it was hit by a lorry.
The crash, which happened near junctions 6 and 5, forced the complete closure of the motorway near Birmingham.
Police said the lorry was carrying an abnormal load and hit the post as it entered a roadworks-restricted area, at about 02:00 BST on Wednesday.
The falling lamp-post caused damage to a "number of vehicles", but no-one was injured, West Midlands Police said.
The force's Central Motorway Policing Group officers closed the route in both directions while the lamp-post was removed.
Police have urged witnesses and those with dashcam footage of the crash to contact them.
