Getting there:

The reserve is located south east of Oakham in Rutland.


If travelling from the west, take the A6003 from Uppingham or Oakham. If approaching from the east, take the road from Stamford (A606/A1).

Train - Oakham station (2 miles away).

Ìý

Free parking at Egleton Bird Watching Centre.

Opening times:

Egleton Reserve - open daily all year from 9am to 5pm (4pm between November-February). Closed Christmas and Boxing Day.

Lyndon Reserve - open daily from 10am to 4pm except Monday from Easter to the end of October. November to Easter - open at weekends and Bank Holidays only. Closed Christmas and Boxing Day.

Charges:

Day rate: Adults £4.00; senior citizens £3.00, children under 16/student union card holders £2.00, disabled people and carers £2.00.

Afternoon permits (from November to February): £1 off normal prices.

The Anglian Water Explorer Permit is available for more regular visitors - £35 per family.
