Shabba D - drum and bass - if this leaves you cold then hold on because as the ever hungry music audience craves new tunes the time for the underground comes to the for.
And we're definitely not talking Girls Awhatnot!

Step up East end white boy - prince in waiting to the drum and bass crown - MC and urban poet - Shabba D - this is music at its most raw and fresh. Telling it like it is and sending the ears into an exhilarated pump of bass fuelled delirium.

Shabba D

Shabba D is pure underground but has no intentions of staying that way and with the release of his new single 'Here Comes the Mic Man' he's making a determined move towards the pop charts. Like Shy FX and Adam F the 25 year old knows the time's ripe for a full blooded assault and he's got his sights firmly set on the north.

Shabba D and his manager Paul Ibiza are currently in negotiations to bring a major party to Manchester. It'll see the first big league event by their company Highly Blessed in the north of England and they've chosen Manchester knowing that clubbers in our funky city are ready for something new.

Debbie Troops caught up with Shabba D recently and they talked about life, music and stardom according to the Highly Blessed.
Listen to the chat.

Shabba on :
who he is...
"I'm just an East End boy who wants to make music you know... this is me it's what I'm about."

his music...
"I don't sing about guns and violence... I'm about love and peace...I recognise that the streets are about those things and I tell it like it is you know but I don't preach violence..."

his future...
"I want to break into the mainstream 'cos the time's right for the MCs... the DJs and the producers are important to our scene but the MCs have got an important message and I want to bring mine."

Debbie also checked Paul Ibiza; his history within the scene spans over 15 years, launching his own record label Ibiza Records back in 1991, and he's widely regarded as the man who invented jungle music.
