Tucked into the cosy bar, onlookers brace their beer and join Pigeon Theatre in the ‘rehearsal’ of a show, with the subtleties of the creative and sheer exhausting process of theatre stripped down.Ìý

Three radically diverse accounts of a single play reflect on imagining death and if it can make the reality of it not so bad. In Parts 1 & 2, two charismatic middle-aged men and a sexy but slightly unhinged couple with an age gap unleash their unique and captivating take on it.

Along the way, the audience becomes part of the fabric of the bizarre in-situ theatre that turns into a private party complete with pub quiz, sandwiches and birthday cake.

In Part 3, Happy Hour, we meet a couple of twenty-something girls in dangerous heels who, like the others, weave and punch the dialogue and themselves around the audience and every surface within reach. You find yourself so much a part of what is unfolding before your eyes that when the girls decide to literally ‘digest’ their script, you get the feeling you’re choking.

The characters seduce and intimidate with their intense eye contact, and it is so intimate, you could put your arm around them in their grief – if you were brave enough. Despite the uncomfortable moments and the uncertain prospect of being handed a script, if you didn’t engage with this captivating show, then you can stop daydreaming… you are already dead.
