Produced by the band themselves and Tom Knott and recorded in four piece鈥檚 homes in Texas, Manchester and Burnley, The Enemy Chorus builds on the approach of These Were The Earlies with their trademark expansive sound. Early frontrunners for favourite tracks include Burn The Liars, Foundation And Earth, Enemy Chorus and When The Wind Blows, which echo the likes of The Flaming Lips, Spiritualized, Brian Wilson and Sigur Ros while remaining distinctively Earlies. The album will be preceded by a 10" double A-side single, featuring No Love in Your Heart and Breaking Point, on Monday 11 December. The single is the first instalment in a five strong run of vinyl releases that will see two tracks from the album put out every two months until every track has been issued. The final release - planned for next July - will come in a special box to carry all the singles. Since their debut came out, The Earlies have won acclaim on the festival circuit, with killer sets at Glastonbury, The Big Chill and Bestival, and have collaborated with several artists; not least turning in a fine display as a backing band for Kenny Anderson on King Creosote's KC Rules OK , as well as putting in a show for a special version of Plan B鈥檚 single Sick 2 Def. Quite where The Enemy Chorus will take them is anyone鈥檚 guess. |
