"Having travelled the world extensively, the most inspiring gig we've ever done is a warehouse space in New York called RUBULAD. It's set in an awesome building bang in the middle of Brooklyn, comprised of a magical labyrinth of rooms with mental music and decadent paraphernalia. "Playing at RUBULAD enforced our ethos of re-creating Warhol's EPI shows, using a late 60s/early 70s aesthetic of multi-media events centred around psychedelic music. We want to try and evoke the same atmosphere and energy of the early raves; nightclubs have become a bit stagnant and formulaic, so it's hard for people to really let their hair down and freak-out - this'll feel more like a extravagant house party.

"It gives us the chance to mix our crowd with the Mushrumps lot also, which'll result in an interesting crossover of people. We're constantly looking to build bridges with other scenes. It's going to offer a refreshing alternative to the Boddingtons project, no doubt." For those of us that haven't experienced headliners Acid Mothers Temple, what are they like? "A Japanese, psychedelic, gargantuan, commune band. They’re often compared to the best Krautrock groups from the 70s. I can't hype them enough, they're a truly phenomenal band!" You've got Voice of the Seven Woods, Samandtheplants and Lord Mongo playing too. Why did you go for those three? "Nightclubs have become a bit stagnant and formulaic, so it's hard for people to really let their hair down and freak-out." | Dom on why B-Music have decided to stage a warehouse party |
"Voice of the Seven Woods have been on the road with us performing a blinding audio-visual performance, creating a custom-built soundtrack to the baroque Jodorowski-eque film 'The Colour Of Pomegranates’. They're a live extension to our DJ sets and epitomise the B-Music sound. "Twisted Nerve luminaries Samandtheplants are a contemporary commune-esque folk combo, so they'll compliment Acid Mothers ideally. Lord Mongo offers something on the other side of the rainbow, something alternative." And what's all this about some weird films?

"We'll be screening a selection of psyched-out world cinema, weird films from around the globe. Spectacular Eastern-European cinema with beautiful women galore, baroque Russian folk stories, infra-red treated Japanese flicks and a host more twisted moving pictures." With so much nonsense, lunacy and music going on, how do you keep your mind on DJing? "It all helps actually." |
