It's funny that after weeks of planning and meetings, the day finally arrived. I fly out at 11.30am to Amsterdam and thankfully, everything runs on time. My camera bag is heavier than my overnight bag and I was staying 2 nights! I arrived in good time to an airport that looks like a city and the shuttle bus which is laid on by the four star hotel picked me up.

I get to the hotel, there's a couple of hours to spare until I'm due at the Amsterdam Arena. The lounge area has a wireless connection, so I sit and browse the Internet, making sure my laptop is working so I can get the necessary emails out. It was good, because I was tad nervous and I never get nervous at big events… I arrive at the arena, having been picked up by a very nice Mercedes, and the first thing that hits me is this huge picture of Robbie covering a building outside it.

It dawns on me that this guy is huge and that this tour is going to be amazing. The sound check was due at 6. It was early so he could watch the England game. Tomorrow night, the arena will be full of 50,000 screaming fans and seventy percent will be female. to be continued... |
