Why are you involved with Sounds From The Other City? "Because I like putting on a do, the bigger the better. As a promoter, I do a lot of work on my own but it’s great fun working as a big team and we all get on really well. Its’ a great thing to be part of and it’s just going to get better and better." Who's the stand-out act on your stage? "That’s difficult. Gideon Conn has been around for a while and I really think he’s a genius. Hip-hop covers and love songs – his stuff is truly original. But Cherry Ghost is also great, he’s got great songs and he sings them beautifully. When you hear him play, you have the feeling that you’re watching a star; he’s definitely going to be hitting the big time soon. Come down and decide for yourself." Why is Sounds From The Other City important?

"Well, we’re all passionate about new music, want to get new bands heard and want to show that you don’t have to go to Night and Day to see the next big thing. But we’re not trying to do anything grand, we just want everybody to have a great time." If you had to choose between the music of Salford and Manchester, which would it be? "Manchester. Salford’s got a great history but Manchester is where it’s happening now, there’s a great DIY promotion scene that’s getting loads of new artists heard." |
